Step inside the luxurious boutique of Van Cleef & Arpels, guests will be indulging in champagne from 8:00 to 10:00 pm while getting a chance to meet Mr. Hakose and admire his stunning creations for Van Cleef & Arpels.

The URUSHI technique marks a stunning collaboration between Van Cleef & Arpels and Mr. Hakose, a master of the ancient Japanese art of lacquer. Working with the remarkable jewelers of the House, Mr. Hakose has created two breathtaking teachnique - the Lacquered Butterflies and the Extraordinary Dials™ Midnight Japanese Lacquer (Maki-e) Timepieces. These sophisticated designs harmoniously integrate the art of lacquer into extraordinary jewelry. Each piece of lacquer was created by experienced craftsmen in Mr. Hakose's Wajima workshop, a town renowned for its peerless lacquered pieces since the 16th century. Using traditional 'Urushi' lacquering, an Edo-era method, each piece is precisely handcrafted with delicate details and patterns which combines modernity and traditional Japanese style.

The Lacquered Butterflies Collection
Mr. Hakose's Lacquered Butterflies mark the return of the Butterfly to Van Cleef & Arpels. A symbol of refinement, lightness and beauty, the butterfly has been an enduring inspiration for the House. Elegant and feminine, the Lacquered Butterflies has transformed the butterfly clip into a rare art piece of refined beauty. Their dazzling gold patterns are crafted by placing gold seeds with needles or spreading with small nets.

Extraordinary Dials™: Midnight Japanese Lacquer (Maki-e) Timepieces
Inspired by Japan's beautiful scenery, Mr. Hakose transformed the traditional dial into a miniature masterpiece of sublime beauty, bringing together the discretion and purity of Van Cleef & Arpels with the exquisite and delicate precision of lacquering. Five traditional landscapes, including Sakura and Ryusui are depicted in lacquer framed by a 42mm white gold case and paired with an alligator strap. Limited to 8 pieces, these unique creations are collectors' items.
