 Stories of Success
Fumie Hara General Manager, Okinawa Galleria, Okinawa
| "As a leading global luxury retailer everything at DFS is about people. Whether it is the way we train our staff to provide a personal and intimate experience for our customers, or how we gauge the market and work with business partners to provide products that customers desire, the company remains focused on this core value. DFS offers its people the mobility to shift geographically, vertically and horizontally for opportunities to develop across different disciplines. This open-mindedness and firm belief in development has allowed Management Trainees like myself to move from Hong Kong to Singapore, working with the diverse Travel Retail markets of Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia in less than 2 years."

Adam Hershman Senior Assistant Merchandise Manager, American Leather Brands, Hong Kong
| "As an Intern, a myriad of experiences in the business development and operational segments of the company facilitated a comprehensive understanding of the DFS complex business model. The passion and excitement I felt as an Intern brought me back to DFS as a Management Trainee and fostered my desire to participate in DFS growth strategy. The company placed me on a high profile project involving one of the company's initial undertakings in the domestic Chinese market. My favorite part of working at DFS involves the international teamwork and the learning experience provided by the network of retail experts."

Debbie Teo Associate Merchandise Manager, Fashion Watches, Hong Kong
| "I joined DFS as a Management Trainee in Singapore, fresh out of University. In my first year, I was blessed with extremely nurturing mentors who gave me numerous opportunities to develop and showcase my talent in exciting projects, presentations, and events. After completing my program, I crossed over to the US Group in Saipan, as a Sales Manager. I also continue to be part of the LDP (Leadership Development Program), which has enabled me to continually maintain a strategic and bigger outlook to our business. Despite being in different DFS Groups, one thing has not changed: the people with whom I work have never failed to guide and train me and to push me to excel at every opportunity."

Devin Pun General Manager, CLK Airport, Hong Kong
| "Having been brought up in the exciting retail environment of Hong Kong, retail has always been an interest to me. With that in mind, when I began searching for a job, DFS, as a world leading luxury travel retailer, was my ideal place to be. I was accepted as a Management Trainee. The twelve month program gave me the opportunity to understand and get hands on experience across various departments in the company. The amount of work and expectations are extremely high, but as long as you work hard enough and prove yourself, the opportunities and exposure is there. Ten months into the Trainee program, I graduated and was assigned to Auckland, New Zealand as a Sales Manager. Twelve months into New Zealand, I received my new assignment to move to Guam as a Business Development Manager. At DFS, the opportunities are there, as long as you work hard and remain open to mobility and opportunities."
